Suite à l'invitation d'EUROPALIA à entrer en résidence de création aux Ateliers Claus avec le Duo Javanais Senyawa, Patshiva Cie et Senyawa se produiront en tournée explosive à Gand - VOORUIT ; Rotterdam - WORM ; St-Vith - TRIANGEL ainsi qu'à Bruxelles à L'ANCIENNE BELGIQUE / AB BOX

SENYAWA (IDN)
Comment décrire le duo javanais noise/punk détonant Senyawa ? Sa musique insaisissable au tempérament punk évoque aussi les performances vocales d’un Mike Patton ou d’un Blixa Bargeld. Cette formation unique de Yogyakarta transforme la musique traditionnelle javanaise en une expérience d’avant-garde dopée au punk. L’instrumentiste Wukir Suryadi fabrique ses propres instruments, tandis que le frontman Rully Shabara impressionne le public avec ses techniques vocales ébouriffantes, alternant entre cris stridents, chants, murmures et halètements.

PATSHIVA CIE (BEL)
Patshiva Cie est un chœur féminin de vingt-cinq âmes basé à Bruxelles. À la barre : Dounia Depoorter, chef de chœur, et Fatou Traoré, une chorégraphe aux racines franco-maliennes qui a notamment dansé pour Rosas (Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker) et Alain Platel.

SENYAWA FEAT. PATSHIVA CIE
À l’invitation d’EUROPALIA INDONESIA, Senyawa résidera pendant deux semaines aux Ateliers Claus, où le duo planchera sur de nouvelles compositions. Wukir Suryadi apportera pour la première fois une série d’instruments faits main, que le public pourra admirer de près après le spectacle. Préparez-vous à une expérience inoubliable grâce à la coopération et l’intervention de l’ensemble polyphonique Patshiva Cie.

Wie ooit het explosieve Javaanse duo Senyawa aan het werk zag, denkt ongetwijfeld aan stemkunstenaars Mike Patton of Blixa Bargeld. En aan een ongrijpbare muzikale impact met punkinslag. Dit unieke duo uit Yogyakarta transformeert traditionele muziek uit Java met avant garde experiment en een flinke injectie punk. Instrumentalist Wukir Suryadi bouwt zijn eigen instrumenten en frontman/zanger Rully Shabara krijst/hijgt/mompelt/zingt én imponeert met zijn ongelofelijke stemtechniek.

PATSHIVA CIE (b)
Patshiva Cie is een 25-koppig in Brussel residerend vrouwelijk polyfonisch koor. Aan het roer: koorleidster Dounia Depoorter en choreografe  Fatou Traoré met  Frans-Malinese roots die haar sporen verdiende/samenwerkte bij/met Rosas (Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker) en Alain Platel.

SENYAWA FEAT. PATSHIVA CIE
Op uitnodiging van EUROPALIA INDONESIA resideert Senyawa twee weken in Les Ateliers Claus waar het duo aan nieuw materiaal zal werken. Voor het eerst zal Wukir Suryadi een resem zelfgebouwde instrumenten meebrengen die het publiek na de show van dichterbij zal kunnen aanschouwen. Hoogtepunt wordt ongetwijfeld de interventie/samenwerking van/met het polyfonisch koor Patshiva Cie.

Beide projecten zijn een samenwerking/coproductie van Europalia Indonesia en Les Ateliers Claus.

SENYAWA (Idn)
Anyone who has ever experienced the explosive Javanese duo Senyawa at work, is no doubt reminded of vocal artists Mike Patton or Blixa Bargeld and of an intangible musical impact with a punk streak. This unique duo from Yogyakarta transformed traditional Javanese music through avant garde experiment and a serious injection of punk. Instrumentalist Wukir Suryadi builds his own instruments and frontman/singer Rully Shabara screams/pants /mumbles /sings and impresses with his unbelievable vocal technique.

PATSHIVA CIE (b)
Patshiva Cie is a 25-member polyphonic female choir that resides in Brussels. At the helm: choir leader Dounia Depoorter and choreographer Fatou Traoré who has French-Malinese roots and earned her stripes with/collaborated with Rosas (Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker) and Alain Platel.

SENYAWA FEAT. PATSHIVA CIE
At the invitation of EUROPALIA INDONESIA, Senyawa will reside in Les Ateliers Claus for two weeks while the two work there on new material. For the first time, Wukir Suryadi will bring along a series of self-built instruments that the audience can take a closer look at after the show. Highlight will no doubt be the collaboration with polyphonic choir Patshiva Cie.
